Studies show that at least 80% of pain people experience stems from your body's soft tissues, specifically muscles, tendons and ligaments. X-Rays and MRI's do not show this. Doctors are not trained to consider tight muscles as a source of pain. They usually offer only two "solutions" to every problem- medications or surgery, neither of which are necessary or warranted except in VERY extreme cases.
Your marathon session of soccer probably exacerbated a problem that already existed long before that day, it just didn't show up as pain until you exceeded your body's capabilities to deal with it. In other words, the soccer playing was the scene of the accident, not the real cause of the problem.
I would suggest some very focused, deep muscle work (massage) such as Neuromuscular Therapy. Most hip pain is caused by overly tight muscles in and around the hip that causes severe joint compression and sometimes entrapment of the Sciatic nerve. A Neuromuscular Therapist can also determine other factors that may be the real cause of your pain, such as one leg being slightly shorter than the other or a unilaterally small hip bone which causes some muscles to work harder than others and leads to chronic tension. Releasing the tight muscles in your hip , legs and back will probably give you immediate relief.
Meds and surgery should always be a last resort, not the first choice. Look for a simple answer to the problem and work your way up, not the other way around.

I seriously doubt you dislocated your hip (or you'd be really @!%$#%) You may have torn a muscle. That will just take time to heal if it can. You haven't said any thing about what the 12 doctors said. was it 12 different answers? was there any consistancy in the answers? Were you prescribed physical therapy? Sorry, I wish I could be of more help. And I agree a chiropractor might help.

There's an exercise method called the Egoscue Method, which is very helpful in relieving all kinds of pain, hips, legs, knees, shoulders, etc., and it's worked very well for me. the only drawback is that it is time consuming.
You can check it out at Egoscue.com
Good luck.

Yes, seeing a good chiropractor is a good idea. They can get the MRI and xrays and look at them and know what is going on with you.
