there r different types of defense systems-
1) physical barriers- skin for example
2) immune system- just to oversimplify...there r different branches to this system...#1 there r amoeba-like cells that gobble up bacteria/foreign material
#2 we have antibodies that r essentially markers that tag the foreign material/bacteria. it signals a type of white blood cell to eliminate it.
3) secretions that can kill bacteria (like chemicals)- for example HCl (a very strong acid) is secreted in ur stomach, which can kill some types of bacteria. another example- there's an anti-bacterial chemical in ur tears.
4) body temperature- our high body temperature inhibits some bacteria to grow inside of us

Our body fights disease using our immune system. With out getting terribly boring and technical, there are two ways our body fights disease, through immediate response and trained response. Let's say you get a cut and an icky disease causing bug gets in there. You body immediatley sends out while blood cells (of many types) to kick invader butt. Meanwhile if your body has seen this bug before, your body is also sending out big guns. These recognize the invader and go ahead creating tons of antibodies to kill off the attackers. This is an extremely short and simplified answer, but I hope this helps.

By using the sun and the cholesterol in your skin to produce vitamin d that is the best cancer prevention and cure known to man! Now they want you to cover your skin with tons of clothes and cancer causing sun screen or avoid the sun altogether and cut your cholesterol so it is impossible to produce any vitamin d and wow has cancer ever increased since they came out with that advice. Lets see, who gave that advice, was it the American Cancer Association and the AMA, plus doctors and the makers of sunscreen? All the people who are realy killing American citizens with cancer as the hit man and profits as the incentive! tg
