Ignorance. People fail to question what their government tells them though they feel that they actively participate in choosing to believe what they hear.
The FDA also allows people to feel more secure and people prefer to take what the FDA says for granted than go out and do some research. People are afraid of the unknown and what the FDA tells them (regardless of wether it's true or not) provides comfort.

I do not trust them at all. The were made to protect us from harmful drugs and keep our food safe. And so far they allow carbon monoxide as a preservative in meat as well as formaldehyde! Antibiotics in everything! I do not like the fda. By the way plastic is not your friends.

I, personally, don't trust any of the "organization"... I buy what I want, but then most of everything that's "legally" being sold had to be approved by the fda... which means, you have to spend more $, that's all.

Because they're stupid. The FDA makes their own rules and really doesn't care about the population. sorry, my opinion from experience.

Because it was instituted to protect our citizens from bad drugs. In the early 60's it prevented a sleeping pill (thalidomide)from being sold in the US, because it wasn't proven to be without side effects. Turns out the side effects on pregnant women turned out to be babies with malformed or absent limbs. It makes sure drugs are thoroughly tested before being sold.

I don't. I think people just want to believe that the government always has our best interest at heart.
