First you must care, really care. Then you must pay attention to what is going on at all times. Finally get involved. Do what you can, no matter how small. If you bought a thousand piece puzzle, and after laying all the pieces out on the table, found that a tiny piece of the blue sky in the upper left hand corner was missing, you could still undoubtedly put the thing together, right? However, it wouldn't be a thousand piece puzzle; it would have 999 pieces. Everyone can matter!

What a dream it would be to insure such. Actually we live in a Republic. A democracy is one where the people govern. In a republic people elect people (senators and representatives) to govern and make laws.
Call them constantly, e-mail them, write them. Run for public office and get elected and make a difference.

Well, I always had heard that writing a well written letter to your congressman and your senator, they will take it to represent 10,000 people. Whether this is true or not I'm not sure.
