You've received some very good information from folks.
Bleeding time is very individual. It also depends what kind of birth you had & if you had any complications & how well you heal. I would check in with your doc. & confirm any questions. It might be sooner then statistics say.

Congratulations on your new arrival. Enjoy her while she's small, babies don't keep. As for your question, generally the period-like flow that you have immediately following birth turns pinkish then brownish, and then will turn to a whitish discharge after about 2 weeks. Sometimes when you return home after the hospital, the flow may increase a little, and may return to a reddish color for a few days. If this happens, it means that you are trying to do too much and need to rest a little more. Try to nap when baby is sleeping. Generally, if all is well, and you are healing inside as you should, the discharge should stop altogether by about 3 weeks, sometimes sooner. As for having sex with your hubby, doctors generally tell women that by six weeks, everything should be healed, and ther is less risk of infection, and give the o.k., after your six week post-patum visit. Most couples, however, don't wait the full six weeks. If you have not had an episiotomy or have not torn, it will be more comfortable for you the first time. Otherwise, there may be some slight discomfort the first time, just go easy, take it slow, use lubricant, as the hormones may cause some vaginal dryness. Use a condom both to decrease the possibility of infection (you may not be completely healed inside), and the chance of becoming pregnant again (unless you want your babies close together). It is possible for you to ovulate and become pregnant soon after giving birth even if your menses have not returned or if you are breastfeeding. My best to you and your new family.

Congratulations ,and wishing you a happy and fast recovery.
Now coming to the point of bleeding and your feelings to make love its natural ,generally the bleeding stops in a day or two if you are not cut at the opening and if there are stitches you will and should wait for 2 full weeks. Please do talk to your doctor if there is more than normal bleeding and some times it could be serious ,But I suggest that you to have control over your feelings and get well and fit before you want to make love ,as he might be interested but you see that there a a catch ,if you are all lose and there is no stiffness in your body he might not like it as there will be any contact /friction when he is in you due to the recent delivery (if It is Natural),so Like I have mentioned give it a week or 10 days and you should be fit and in great condition by then to give and enjoy the same pleasure together. you know that there is always a kind of pleasure in waiting .once again wishing you a fast recovery.

You might continue bleeding for up to 4 weeks - it will start to lessen as time goes on. As far as sex goes, you will need to check with your dr. Most recommend 6 weeks for a vaginal birth, 8 weeks if you were c-section. If you had an episotimy, you might need to wait until the stitches heal
And congrats on the baby girl!!
