After wanting an easy to hide, fun piercing for a while, this seemed the best choice. Out of curiousity, are there many side effects of this piercing? I know plaque can build up on the bar/cbr, but I would like to know of serious side effects or any other problems which may occur.

The piercing usually won't touch teeth as it is underneath the tongue. Therefore, teeth wouldn't "shift". Having the entire tongue pierced can chip teeth, but they will never shift or move because of a piercing.

there arent any serious side effects-biggest ones are (unlikely) infection or rejection, rejection is somewhat likely if not placed correctly or just from eating/talking/etc
