With a great deal of whispering and drama, telling her about being bi late at night when I was 15. She'd *said* I could talk about anything regarding my sexuality and what I was thinking. Bless her heart, she didn't mean it. She thought I was going through a phase until I married "the little Russian *****." I was 30. She's nicer to us both now. :-)

My dad pretty much dragged it out of me. He asked me twice before and I denied it. When I was getting ready to move away for college he asked me a third time and I just said yes. Then I immediately let him know how it was. I told him, "Look, it's no big deal. I'm still a good guy. I'm in the military, I don't drink or do drugs and I'm going to school. It's not a set back." He still doesn't like it and neither does my biotch of a step mother, but I could care less.

i showed my mom the pictures of my 4 exboyfriends. she held my hand and said "are u ok?do u feel happy?"
i would have never showed her if i didnt have any relationships before. i needed to prove her i knew about myself.
my father, was different. he was always asking me questions.
one day, after i came back from a vacation week in the UK,(a reeeaaaly bad one) i stand in front of him and said: "you can now ask me whatever you want. but beware, i will answer the truth only, so be sure that u wanna ask".
so he asked like this:
"so, do you have a girlfriend?"
- "no"
"have u ever have a girlfriend?"
- no (then he showed a nervous smile)
"you don't like girls?"
- no (then i started to smile, almost laughing)
"So, are u gay?"
- yes, i am.

then he told me to always do it safe.he was nervous, and i know he cried sometimes, but he was homophobic and very traditionalist.
After that (2 years ago) we have become closer than we ever were before. And when he went to take me to the airport last time, he started crying like crazy.

Always be yourself.

At 16 I gathered up the nerve to as my mom a question about her own sexuality. The plan was to then to revert the question back to me possibly being gay. But before i could intervene with my own sexuality she stopped me and said, "Don't bother i knew before you did!"

WOW!

When i felt comfortable enough to tell my mom i just told her. She still accept me as her child, but it's taking a while for her to come to terms with it. Just answer whatever questions your parents have and be totally honest with them, when the time is right you're know. Always be yourself no matter what!

I was wearing one of those rainbow belts and she asked me about it and I told her I was gay. She made me go back to my dorm room and take it off, told me not to tell the family, and told me to go off to college next year....and she took away the belt later. This was a couple of days ago and she acts like nothing happened.

still having keys to my mothers house, i was out with my gf and couldnt get a cab home so we went to my old ladys, low and behold a little alcohol and the total horn and one rather loud orgasm and the old lady came to investigate. i dont think she expected what she found. her face looked like it was gonna combust but i think that was more me laughing than what i was actually doing.

I didn't really tell them anything I just took my new girlfriend over to meet my parents. I didn't even interduce her as my girlfriend just by her name. My mom understood and told my dad. There both ok with it. They just said they are glad to see me happy again.
