Reason is a function of the human mind. It is based upon logic and a belief in the objective scientific reality. It is often flawed. It is human and natural for individuals who have completed building an ego boundary between themselves and the rest of the Universe.
Emotion is a function that many people will state is a function of the human heart. It includes a wide variety of subjective feelings. Even infants and those who have not matured enough to have reason, do feel emotions.
Many would say the the duality of Humanity is due to the interplay of reason and emotion.

Both. We are emotional creatures but also reasonable ones. Logic and emotion often conflict with each other in our lives, but both are equally important. Without emotion, life wouldn't be worth living, but with out reason it would be too chaotic to be possible. In some cases reason overshadows emotion, but in most cases, i believe that emotion takes power over reason. Think about conflict. It is reasonable to just make peace and let our differences exist if need be, but instead we let emotion take control and fight to the death (we are, by the way the only creature that does fight to the death on a regular basis). Ironically, we often use our power of reason to defend our emotions. I won't delve into this concept, but the point is we are creatures of both natures.

I think our nature (meaning natural impulse) is emotion, we learn reason and it's often the better way to go.

same oh, same oh..... logic versus instincts (again)... LOL
that would depend on the situation that calls for it. when you buy groceries, it's instincts that tell you what to buy, but because of financial restrains, it's logical to spend on lesser items...
when decisions are made, we used logics of reasoning but it's our instincts that tell us what to choose...
so, it's a little of both and would depend on situations that props up...
