My mom used to be the same way too all my friends wore nailpolish and by the time I was 13 I showed her how responsible I was and that nail polish wasn't that much of a big deal and now I can wear nailpolish w/out her bugging me about it.

If you're "too young," then I think that you should listen to her. I've had my parents say the same thing to me before about other issues. I tried to do the thing and hide it, but then when I was least expecting it, my parents would somehow find out. Then I regreted it and got in big trouble, so if I were you, and I would just respect your mom's wishes. Now, I'm not saying that your immature, but maybe your mom thinks that you're rebelling too much with the issue, and she wants you to mature before letting you wear nail polsih. It might be that she really doesn't mind you wearing nail polish, but she just says that you're too young to see if you're too immature to take what she says and let it go. I'll bet you $50 that if you went up to her and said: "Mom, ya know, I've been thinking about this whole nailpolsih thing, and I'm going to respect your wishes. If you think that I'm too young, then I'll abide by that. I'll start wearing nail polish whenever you think I'm ready." That'll show her that you really are ready and mature enough to do that. I know that it's just a little thing, but it'll really make her think, and it'll tell her that maybe you can start wearing nail polish. Now, I'm not gauranteeing that it'll work right away and that she'll immediately start letting you wear nail polish, but it just might get her started thinking more seriously. If you keep arguing her about, I can gaurantee that it'll be even longer before she'll let you wear it. Nail polish isn't that big of a deal, so don't let it get to you. Just let it go and don't try to hide it. It'll be hard, and something else to think about every day that you sneek it, and you'll always feel guilty about it. Just let it go and show your mom how mature you are bye letting her take control, after all, that's why God gave us parents is to tell us what's best for us! I really hope that this helps you and that you don't just ignore my advice! I promise that it'll help!

Well how old are you? If you're older than 12, then you should just ask your mom about clear shades. Also, if you're younger than 12, you should probably listen to your mom and wait...trust me nail polish is not that big of a deal. If your mom still says no to the clear, then just say its ok and wait...dont rebel because if you dont bring it up she might get the feeling that ur mature and maybe she should let you. If she doesnt, then its ok...just listen to ur parents. It shouldnt be a big deal over nail polish yet. Hope I helped! Good luck!

I know you want to wear colored polish, but I would start by asking for a manicure set & just buffing your nails. That would give them a pretty shine. Then once she gets use to the fact that you really do want to "take care" of your nails, then you might have some grounds to have another chat with your mom.

Why don't you just ask your mom if you can have some clear nail polish and some manicure tools to make your nails look nice and clean. There's nothing prettier. Get some hand lotion too.

There is this new peel and stick nailpolish that you can get at the drugstore...you can put it on on the bus. Don't tell your mom I told you that. BUT...as a mom, don't do it...you are beautiful just the way you are.

Wow.. that is strict.. ive been wearing it since i was 5... Just tell her that if you dont like it theres always nail polish remover too take it off.. its not like its permanent. Tell her your growing up, and want to be feminene. That should work.. Just make sure no black nail polish.. then she def. wont let you.
