first that is something u need to see first on ur computer if it's old than u will need to purchase a "pcmcia" wireless card that has a configuration of 802.11 type g is the best, and then if u enter a cafe with wireless for free there the computer by itself will do his work and all u have to do is hit the E for the internet and start browsing, and if ur laptop is new then that comes in all of them by default. u could check at ..

you need a router and a wireless adapter. in order for your router to work you have to have DSL. then, your computer will be wireless anywhere in your house. and anywhere that supports that specific company of your wireless adapter. for example. my router is Hawkings Technology (expensive). my wireless adapter is Linksys (affordable). they don't have to be the same. but mostly everybody uses Linksys. so i would suggest Linksys.
i don't know their website. but you can try Linksys.com (i'm guessing) do a search on yahoo. just type in Linksys and you will find their website.

all you need to do is go to circuit city or something and buy a wireless card. and that will only work if you have a wireless router. your cable company will have routers that you can rent or buy.
