I usually strip my name/address from the advertising inserts and mail it back to the company...IF they've included a postage-paid return envelope!
Otherwise, I shred it!

My unwanted mail and fliers all go into a bin for paper recycling, so it can be broken down, repressed into paper and printed on thus sent back to me as more unwanted mail

I strip my name off of it andif it it colorful shred it for packaging. otherwise, I shred it for the recycle bin

I just recycle it. I rip up the credit card offers though, to make sure nobody rips me off.
I am in the recycling biz, we need more stuff!

i dont think the company will make an effort to update mailing list.
so throw it away might be better.

good for you, I do the same, if we keep sending them back there empty envelopes it will cost them money for nothing. maybe they will stop sending junk mail.
