When I was growing up I got the belt a total of 5x by a father who loved me and raised me and my sister mostly by him self cause my mom was mentally sick, At no time did I feel abused but today they would have CPS investigating and possibly removing us. For the most part parents know the boundaries between discipline and abuse. What does a person that has no children but has gone to college know about raising and disciplining kids.I am not ignoring the ones that go to far into the area of abuse but maybe if the workers are trained to spot real abuse, Parents would feel more confident in there role as disciplinarians. Now when the children go bad they blame it on the parents and tell them they did a bad job of raising them. Also we have heard that it takes a nation to raise a child well thats good but lets let them all be on the same page. This worked when my mom was growing up and worked with my sister and myself.

there is no such thing as a justice system for one. and accountability for another. the laws are not fair and just. if you want people to respect them then they must be equal, no matter your race, financial, or social status. the whole "juvenile justice system" is a joke as far as im concerned. noone who commits REAL crimes is tried as a juvenile anyways anymore, unless of course theyve got some sort of pull. which just brings me back to the fairness and equality issue. it is overall difficult to classify someone as a juvenile, because a juvenile is generally some one who is to young to know any better. and that all boils down to how they were nurtured. i, on one hand, matured fairly quickly. by about 12 or 13. but thats because i had to, i didnt really have a choice. but yet and still, i know 18, 19 year olds, and older, who have been sheltered most their life and still havent developed their sense for self. therefore are still childish, immature, still dont quite know or understand what is appropriate and whats not.

The juveniles are getting more and more vicious -- and violent, and the laws, judges, Children's Services, etc are NOT capable of properly investigating the situation to figure out that these teenagers have TOO MANY Rights and not enough Responsibilities and are NOT being held responsible for their Violent, Criminal Conduct.

Of course I am not an expert, but I really
believe that it is a tragedy today that there
aren't many parents who want to take re-
sponsibility for their children, or to face up
to the crimes their children have committed.

It seems parents want to say things that
infer it is the child's fault that they are bad.
As tho it has nothing to do with
themselves being bad parents.

I truly believe that it should be the parents
who are punished when the children mis-
behave, and they should be made to attend
classes that teach them to be good parents.
The earlier, the better.
