- hold a pizza/bake sale. My organization buys a ton of pizza and bottle of water. Then we all bring in fresh, homemade baked goods. We offer a meal deal for $4 with 2 slices of pizza, a water, and dessert. We usually get Papa Johns to give us large pepperoni and cheese pizzas for only $5 each.
- ask around to local businesses to help sponsor your organization to get t-shirts. You can put the business name on them. then put your frat's name and some kind of design on them. You can sell them for around $10-15 bucks each and make a nice sized profit.
- Restaurant fundraisers - you can go to places like Fridays, Applebees, Max & Ermas, etc. They will give you little cards to pass out to family and friends. Then for a couple of nights, your organization will get a percentage of the bills from everyone who presents the cards.
- See if any grocery stores will let your group bag groceries for tips. We did this for a local grocery chain and made around $300 in just 2 hours.
(Some of these may be hard to do if your group does not have non-profit tax status.)

Best fundraiser we ever had in college was a "Jail for Bail." Someone pays to lock another person up and the person locked up has to raise twice as much money to get out.
I've seen this done numerous ways, but the most effective is, if you have a commons area, set up the "jail" and make them beg for the money. You can choose whether they have their cells on 'em or not, but what ends up happening is that other students will come by and promise them $1 to sing this or that song. Men will get money to flash their chests or butts and women will get money to flash their tummies or more, etc. It's a heck of a lot of fun. We raised like $300 at a community college doing it.
Good Luck

I own a candle company that does thousands of fund raisers yearly. You may want to try our spirit candles for a fundraiser. We make premium candles in your colleges two primary colors. You make 5 dollars a candle and since this is a school function we pay all the shipping. We can even offer the candles with out a wick so yo can put them on a candle warmer(I know some colleges we have dealt with won't let you burn candles in the dorm) These spirit candles work well leading up to homecoming week. 2 weeks ago we had a High School Band make over $13,000 in a two week fundaiser.

You can make a lot of money with a Chinese Auction. Send out letters to area places (moves, fast food, etc.) and get some prizes donated. Have some of the Frat Brothers make donations - tutoring, typing a report, etc., whatever their niche is. Rather than doing a "regular" raffle, do a Chinese Auction. A Chinese Auction is where people buy like 10 tickets for $5 and they put their tickets in the box that is labeled with the prize they wish to win!
Good luck.

This is one that always does well at my childrens school. It is good because people of all ages LOVE these.
Get a few baskets and fill each one with items. Each basket should have a theme...for example...
"Chocolate Lovers" could have things like cocoa, chocolate candy, etc
"Movie Night" Blockbuster card, microwave popcorn, etc etc.
Each item in the basket will have something to do with the "theme." You can have has many or as few baskets as you want and they can be as big or as small as you want. Sell raffle tickets for a dollar, and then hold a drawing.

Yes. Find a local sporting event (ie - football, baseball, auto racing, professional golf) and ask if they hire volunteer groups. They may take on volunteers to sell programs, take tickets, park cars, drive shuttles, and other jobs that make the event happen. They then pay directly to your organization for the hours worked. They avoid having to staff these positions. It takes some coordination and commitment on your part but you can raise a lot of cash. People within and outside your group will do it to get closer to the action especially if you negotiate a free ticket for the volunteer.

It is tough because at the college level, it is hard to sell products to other students.
try:
A dance (charge admissions and have raffles)
a fair with games fun night (carnival style games)
as far as products, get t-shirts screen printed with something ridiculous (like the name of your college spelled wrong or a silly saying like "I Is a College student". get your ideas together, then either get them made and sell directly (but this has some up-front costs) or take orders...either way build in a with a modest profit margin.
good luck!

In the past, selling lemonade worked well for me. A spaghetti sale that my club had was also quite successful, albeit a little inconvenient.

Maybe have a fundraiser at a restaurant? I know that Friendly's usually does that.

if the weather's nice, a car wash is always a good deal. usually local gas stations can help you out with that. most likely you will have to bring the hoses though.
