Jimmy Page is one of the most notarized and copied guitarists in hard rock. But does anyone else beside me think he was a bit sloppy as well as a thief? riff wise he was pretty good but solo wise he was all over the place. On top of that he copied Jeff Beck alot and stole some of his stuff. While I won't slag Page don't you think he is rated a bit higher than he should be?

jimmy page is one of the greatest and most influential guitarist in rock history, and doesn't copy jeff beck , he create his own style with led zeppelin that paved the way to the other guitar heros in the world, like eddie van halen, joe satriani and others, also his solos always ranked the best in the world ( like his solo in stairway to heaven).

I agree with you. I never really like his solo`s and your right he was all over the place on the later albums. I think VanHalen is a little that way also as compared to Randy Rhoads. Rhoads was a guitar teacher and really had time to think about things and put them together well. Example: The solo in Over the Mountain on the Diary of a Madman album of Ozzy`s. Jeff Beck can do anything with a guitar and doesn`t have to use any effects or pedals.

I never DID undersyand why people thought that Jimmy Page was so hot of a guitar player. I can think of several who are much better: For one, Peter Frampton!
