Hi,
I am a mom of 3 girls my oldest love to sleep on her stomach still does I didn't start putting her on her stomach till she could raise her head up. The reason for that is that even if they can't raise there head you have to make sure no pillows or covers are in with them I would put just a lite receiving blanket with her and she would sleep good. I wouldn't recommend it until they are strong enough because of SIDS. experienced

Lots of babies do like to sleep on their stomaches. However there has been some studies that have shown that this can increase cot death. So it is wiser to put them on their back or side. Also make sure no toys are likely to suffocate them if the do roll. That may sound silly but I have known someone who this happened to

Hi

Obviously I don't want to cause and upset or distress but putting babies to sleep on their backs greatly reduceds the risk of cot death.

Since a campaign by Anne Diamond ('Back to Sleep') following research by Bristol University, putting babies to sleep on their backs has prevented an estimated 10,000 deaths in the UK.

Hope this helps

No, babies need to on their backs. SID (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) had an awareness campain going years back that said "Back To Sleep" Children have been known to die on their stomaches. No one knows exactly why. There is also a certain age when you can allow them on their stomache, but I'm not sure which age. I think it's when they can flip themselves over, but you can search on it.

Yes they can as long as you keep an eye on them. I think you should change position for the baby so the hair wont come out cause some people lay their baby on their backs and the baby hair comes out at the back

When babies are able to lift and turn their heads, I think that if thats the best way they can sleep, then you can think about doing it. I would try it out only for naps, so that you have a watch on him or her. My daughter who is now 3 months sleeps longer on her tummy. I have tried swaddling but she breaks out of it.

It is unwise to put a baby on its stomach to sleep. It greatly increases their risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Why put your baby at risk?

It is not recommended until the baby can roll themselves from their back to their tummy. However, when my babies were about 3 - 4 months, they were starting to roll over (not quite though) but slept considerabley better on their tummies. Sometimes you need to do what you have to do and not always worry about the "what ifs......"
