I know, waste of 5 points but I'm just curious. Adolescent sounds so....mature now. Could it be to prevent so many immature questions like "cole & dylan sprouse hott?" or what?

i doubt they are trying to deter immature questions, as you are all in the wrong category anyway. this category is for the 'parenting of adolescents', not a teen chat place.

Yes,that was the purpose.They changed it a couple days ago,and to keep some of those immature questions out.However,i think there are just as many as there were before.This is for parents of teens/pre-teens to ask questions and get them answered maturely instead it was and somewhat still is being abused to ask immature,silly,or "chatty" questions.When this site isnt for that,that is what messenger is for.Some people actually have questions,and/or are curious about things or would just like some opinions on stuff but there are those who take this site overboard.They ask questions that are way inappropriate.Teens can ask questions here,just not be completely immature about things,i dont see the harm if they have an actual question that doesnt include the infamous question "Does anyone wanna chat with me?".

Preteen just meens before the age of 13 (means nothing)
adolescent is from 11 to 14 or 15 years old. (that's the time that kids are most annoying).
Teen is 16 to 19 (when they are still annoying, but only to their parents)

No, because someone who is a teenager is an adolescent. They changed it to that probably because people ask stupid questions. No teenager can ask a question without it having it to do with sex, dates, and other junk. With the category adolescent, you won't see all of the crap you see now with the Teen and Preeteen section.

its prolly because teens and preteens would come here and ask questions which we still do...and parents would get mad and say this section is not for teens to ask questions about themselves, it is for parents to ask questions about their teens. so now when they changed it to adolescent, it sounds more like the other categories like grade-schooler and toddler, so maybe they are trying to get rid of the teens on here. but its not going to work!
