It hurts when making the transition from standing to sitting or vice versa. It feels like a bruise and I have not injured it in any way.

I am experiencing tailbone pain with this pregnancy. I had it with my first baby too. I asked my doctor about it and he said that when the bones in the pelvis start to shift in preparation for the birth, in some women the tailbone goes from a crescent to a straight line with space in between the bones. It's horrible and I haven't found any way to alleviate the pain. I think the worst time I have is hard chairs or booths at resturaunts, but I also hurt if I sit in my car too long. You could try a donut pillow, sometimes I use my boppy pillow and it helps with the pain.

I had some issues like that near the end of my second pregnancy. It was because she's been breach for about 4 months and was turning the right way (according to the dr anyway) BUT I had a friend that had problems with her 3rd pregnancy and ended up finding out that she had a small fracture that they think she got having the 2nd and her dr had just misdiagnosed her pain.
Congrats on your baby and good luck getting rid of that pain!
