I read the rest of your previous questions and I realised that you are really yearning for a change at this stage of your Life.
I'm younger and may not be in the same shoes as you are. Just hope that sharing my views with you might help.

Here in Singapore, reality is 40yrs old is truly a difficult age to start job-hopping. While Americans will tell you to go for it and find a Life, Singaporeans will cautious you against doing it.

What I believe is, if you have enough savings to allow you to survive for at least 2-3 months without work, (dont forget the monthly bills that you need to pay) then go out and venture.

Plus if you dont have dependents that cannot do without your salary, then you are really free to try what you like.

For myself, I want to enjoy my work rather than to be stuck in one just for the sake of staying alive in Singapore. I dont believe that Life is about working till I grow useless and get dumped in the old folks home. Experiencing Life while I can still move about is much more worthwhile than trying to enjoy tours at the age of 60.

If you fear that you will regret, why not take a parttime course to get to know more people and learn something new at the same time. You might discover more things than what Yahoo Answers can give you.

I think it is advisable to get a new job first before leaving your existing company coz at 40 it is not easy to find a job in Sg. So what i suggest is that you send your resume to the prospective employer first and once you have accepted the offer, then you resigned from your current company.

If you are so miserable, please do yourself and the stingy company a favor and look for greener pastures. This situation is not like wine; it will not get better with age. Hit your network of colleagues and brush up your Resume.

Good luck.
