This was also asked last night--looking for more answers

It will be for a thirteen year old girl, but the party will almost resemble a sweet sixteen....but on a low budget. It should be memorable. It will be held at my house, outdoors. I am a talented baker and I am great at decorating cakes, so I will be making and decorating my own cake with marshmallow fondant. We have a pool and jacuzzi, and will be using them. I will be putting tons of songs on an iPod and blasing music through speakers. I need food ideas...it should look nice. Since it will be outdoors, I don't think that we can do a fondue fountain but we will have a chocolate fondue pot. I just need more ideas. I'm on a tight budget ($150).

There will be approximately 25-30 people, most 13 years old.

Got food ideas? Decoration ideas? LIGHTING IDEAS? please help, and remember my budget!!

I WILL choose a best answer as I see fit, thanks. You can add a little request for the best answer at the end if you like, but it won't much

as far as food goes..have u heard of salad cubes?
its basicly fruit salad, cube form.get a cube shaped box about as big as a small ashtray, or make them out of card board. Just press in and freeze.then press out onto plates and serve.

for lighting, mix black lights with colored bulbs.
red, purple and blue go well with black lights.
make sure all the linins and stuff are in white.

for entertainment, why not truth or dare?
it was fun as kids and its still fun today, specially for 13 year olds.

Wow... That's quite a party.

But really, the key to a fun party, is things you do together.

Find fun games that you can do. It doesen't need to cost anything.

Truth or Dare is the single greatest party game ever created to the teenage mind.
If you want, there are cards they sell with questions so you won't run out of ideas.

As far as food and decoration,
Make it revolve around what the kid likes.
I'm obbsessed with music: a party with tunes blasting and I'd be thrilled.
Or find their favorite dish, and revolve it aroudn that if your a really good cook.
Chinneese? Italinan? you could have fun with that.

I would say tacos or the traditional Hamburgers & Hot dogs. Also a variety of cheap sodas. Oh also how about chips? Pizza is a bit expensive so I wouldn't suggest it.
