Rotate is the command that means to pull back on the yoke, thus setting the correct angle of attack to lift off from the runway.
It is the point at which the airplane has accelerated to achieve Vr which is rotational velocity and the velocity at which sufficient lift can be produced to lift off from the runway.

He is telling the co pilot to rotate the big wheel next to him to give them the power they need to get off the ground. Only happened after the lies about glocal warming were introduced and all planes were detuned before the MOT to get a good reading

Rotate is the word used to indicate it is time to get us off the ground.
It is because the engines systems are 'Rotating' to the flying position from the former ground position.

It refers to rotation of the aircraft body along the pitch axis. In fact, it's refered to as Vr (rotation speed) in most aircraft performance manuals and it differs from aircraft to aircraft and with aircraft loading, CG, and density altitude.
