Sophisticated Party Themes

Both the Dem's' and re pubs' can rarely agree on anything even when they want the same thing. Unless you go to c-span you will not see much coverage of third party candidates. Large corporations make huge contributions to candidates they support, you are limited in how much you can donate to a candidate personally. Corporations set up committees and groups to support and fund candidates. The latest bankruptcy laws were written by the banking industry for congress to make into law and it bit them in the butt. The other problem is that some people vote for 1 party all the time, either because they support that party all the time and believe it is the only party to do whats right,or they are dissatisfied with the other party for some reason. Both parties want it their way and will compromise some to get their way. If what I read on the Internet last night is even half true, this election may not matter anyway. If we have another attack like 9/11 or a major disaster before the elections F.E.M.A . will take control and George Bush will become the true power of government. If it happens after the elections and before the new president takes office,I don't know what will happen. G.W. signed an executive order for the continuity of government and F.E.M.A. will take over and suspend the constitution and the President will be the unity executive. Congress and the Supreme Court will still exist but will have very little voice, the President has the final say in all matters. There was also another site talking about the formation of the North American Union (Canada,U.S. and Mexico forming a union like the E.U. and the U.S. Constitution will be gone.

Please ingnore all the comments about having a bellydance/moroccan theme. That's not what bellydance is all about. These common misconceptions are very degreading and insulting to us bellydancers who have worked hard for decades developing techniques and style to be able to perform this art. #1. misconception the harem is a place where loose wild sex is running rampant. Pick up a real book on the subject people. The harem is the womens quearters designed to keep women from the view of other men and protect them from the possibilty of sexual temptation and rape. It's to keep their modesty and chastity. It's not just the sultan's wives and concubines, It's the mother, grandmother, aunt's,sisters, daughters even a brothers wife or child, and also any mother-in-laws. They don't lounge around in the nude or in bellydance clothes they wear large lose robes know as caftan's, galabiya's, and abaya's. They may have danced for each other to keep themselves entertained since it was often a long day with nothing to do and they didn't have TV. #2 bellydance is like stripping... This is very insulting and not even close to the truth. Bellydance is an artform that requires great skill and muscle control. It may have many origins but it's real ones are unknown to us. Bellydancers do not remove clothing the only thing whic might be removed is a veil which is used to make a dramatic entrance and then tossed to the side. Bellydancers do not perform sexual favors or sell their body's so they are nothing like strippers (I'm sure somewhere some bellydancer is doing this and she'd better watch out 'cuz if the Be;;ydance police catch her she'll be torn apart, in the middle east this is only true because the laws make it incredibly difficult for a woman to perform anything in public and so only extremely loose women perform in public). I could go on but my main point is that it does not have connotations of sex so it would not work well with your party. I think the 1920's speakeasy theme would be much better suited to your theme.
