Input/output addresses (usually called I/O addresses for short) are resources used by virtually every device in the computer. Conceptually, they are very simple; they represent locations in memory that are designated for use by various devices to exchange information between themselves and the rest of the PC.

I/O addresses are usually in hexidecimal format...

I/O addresses are used by all devices in the PC to access memory. Memory addresses and I/O addresses are the same thing.

IO addr = mem addr in actuality. Mem addresses of specific range is reserved to be redirected to an actual IO devices; thus we call it IO addresses.
