Is it just some worthless software and a slightly different look and color?

I have had both, there are a few differences. They moved the buttons around. The camera and video are better and there is some different software (also depends on what carrier you are on) I really loved my 650 (got the 700p as a replacement when my 650 died) and was a little upset with the 700 at first but now really like it more. Also have much better reception with the 700p I was always roaming in my house with the 650 now I have perfect signal with the 700.

Megapixel resolution for the 700, while the 650 did not.
If your refering to the Sprint version. The newer 700 allows for high speed internet usage and use of their 3g network. You can even tether it to a laptop to get high speed internet on your laptop. If you did this with the 650, it woud not be reliablean and slower than dialup.

The biggest difference is that the 700 runs on faster dadta network, so downloads are quicker.
