The Lord of the Rings including the Hobbit has inspired so many things. A whole new genre that had before not been seen. All fantasy authors of today had to attribute a little of their success to J R R Tolkien a true pioneer. This is my pick.

I loved the Earth Children's series by Jean Auel. That would have to be first pick. Second would probably be Harry Potter, followed by the Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman.

Lord Of The Rings. The truth is that out of the list I've read only LOTR, HP, and chronicles of narnia. And I know I like it better than James Bond even though I've never read it. LOTR is the most amazing series I've ever read.

I'd have to go with Lord of the Rings, because it's the only one I've read and seen....
Earth's children? Never heard of it, but this doesn't mean it's not good.... I'll ask around...
