Yes, it's a dressy type dance. I can't wait to go myself (I'm a senior). It's usually on the day or week of the school's football homecoming game in the fall.

This depends greatly from one area to another...Here in the NE they are normally thought of to be dressy casual....not like for a semi-formal or formal....DRESSY slacks and blouses/shirts but not necessary dresses or suits...never suits around here. Homecoming in fact normally involves a bon-fire around here...to give you an idea ...but, in some areas this can be a dressy dance...just ask someone who went to them before in that school.

Depends on the school. One high school that I went to was casual and one that I went to was formal. Just ask a teacher.
