My golden diary rule is , if I am having a ***** about something someone, I always make sure that my last paragraph is positive, ie finding a solution to whatever the problem is or giving myself some praise. Also I have been writing diaries since I was 9 and I have learned to write about positive experiances as well as the bad ones, this way if I am ever upset I look at the good ones to remind myself of acheivements and good times... Hope this helps xxxxxx

A diary is both a private and a public document. It is private only so long as the writer is able to protect it from others' eyes. Writing a diary is a good habit which helps one to review the day just ended, and record one's perceptions . It serves as the base for verifying facts after lapse of some time.It also helps to prevent distortions in memory.
Important habits to develop in maintaining a Diary.:
Never write when you are angry, or upset. Allow emotions to cool down before recording events that you liked much or hated much.

Try and keep the entries to facts only; record opinions only if absolutely necessary. This way your memories will be better protected from prying eyes of those not associated with the incidents and who are likely to colour your remarks as per their disposition
Hilarious moments can be recorded ,if malice wont be the result ,when someone else reads it.
Pointedly critical remarks based on a day's work will lose worth after the lapse of some time and are better avoided..

Write down the names of people you meet for the first time, and a kind word to link with the face. Failure to recall names when we meet the person after some time is a handicap we face in developing good relationships.
It is surprising how our character shapes when Diary writing discipline is maintained.

GOOD LUCK!

yes but be honest & above all, hide the darn thing where you know nobody will find it! if you write things in it that you know will be harmful to others, really make sure you hide it good! the best advice is, dont tell anyone you are writeing in a diary! save yourself some heartache!

Here's something for you to remember:

There are no rules to writing in a diary/journal.

You write what you feel.

You draw what you feel.

You doodle.

You rant.

You rave.

You say your dreams, thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Date your entries

Give a final thought to your entry

I believe that when you're writing in a journal THE most important part is to be 100% HONEST. You may not want to admit it to yourself but half the reason why we keep a journal is to learn from the experiences, and you know like they say you'll laugh about it someday.

Do more than write about your days. Try to write on various topics to learn more about yourself. I like the prompts at Writingfix.com

Happy journaling.

keep it private and express everything and confess everything because a diary is the one thing that you can tell and not have to worry about the secret getting out.

Keep it locked or do not write anything in it that you would not want everyone to see.
