You could call your OB and see if he can get you in for a blood test. You can tell a little earlier thru the blood. My Dr. said that blood can read when your pregnancy hormone (HCG) is a low number (anything over 2 is considered pregnant)...whereas the home tests it has to be close to 50. Even if a blood test says no, it doesn't mean you aren't pregnant...it could be too early. That happened to me (unfortunately i miscarried though). We are trying again and i have a feeling i ovulated a couple weeks ago, but I'm still supposed to wait another few weeks to test for an accurate answer. My periods are pretty far apart.

If you have a "regular" cycle, around 28 days or so, you are only about 1 week past ovulation. Pregnancy hormones don't typically show up in your urine stream (for even the most sensitive of PG tests) until about 12-14 days past ovulation. I would say wait another week, or at least until your period is late.

Because your mentrual cycle has just ended you will be able to find out in September. Give it a few weeks and then you should take the at home pregnancy test even if you have not missed your period.

I took the First Response before I missed my period and I got a positive result.

Some home pregnancy tests can be accurate within a week or two. Make sure to take your test early in the morning since your PH levels are higher at that time. For my first pregnancy it didn't show positive until I was 6 weeks pregnant.

I think you can take one two weeks before your period, but I'd not for sure, it's been a long time since I've had to take a pregnancy test, my youngest will be 7 in February.
