It actually took about a month for it to stop being tender for me. As long as you clean it 2-3 times a day you should be fine

i have my ear pierced in the cartliage where the top of your ear joins to my head, not the knob bit, but the actual ear...it took about a year in total for the tenderness to go away, but that is not unusual considering where the piercing it. i had my tongue done at the same time and that hurt a lot less...

with my ear however, i was constantly cleaning it and pushing out the collecting scar tissue so that it didnt heal with a big ball of scar tissue as can happen with this piercing. make sure that you clean it every day after you shower and even in between that if you remember...

It really depends on the person, for me, it took about a month for the tenderness to go away. You just have to be patient. It might seem like it will never go away, but it just usually takes much longer time than it ordinarily would. Just be patient.

I had mine pierced in june of '05. I truly thought it was never going to stop hurting. Everytime i moved the piercing, laid on it wrong, got my hair caught in it, it hurt. It took mine 9 months before I was pain free. (And in case anyone is wondering-no, it was not infected. It just hurt!)

Just hurting on it's on, it took about a day or two for it to stop. But anytime you hit it, it will hurt for about 6 weeks. Just make sure you clean it because it can infected easily.

2-3 days take some pain killers to keep you from hurting in the sensitive area.
