For those who asked why I didn't include The Exorcist. Well, for one, The Exorcist is definitely scary hands down and no actual evil being was shown.

However, The Exorcist deserves special mention.

4) Jigsaw he's just stone cold, and realistic. The others are too fantastic to actually hold any fear with the possible exception of leatherface
