assuming that u can keep a beat, and dont want to spend money on dancing lessons, i say just put in a good sounding cd of ur choice and start moving it. u could ask someone nice, a friend, to help. but i pretty much believe that if u have the rhythm, u have a good start. u could also go to the clubs, and just set, with a drink, for a little while and just watch.

If you have no rhythm then you never can but if you have a great natural rhythm blacks call soul they you can learn any movement by simply watching one time and if you love the drum and must move to it then you already can dance! If you express your self then you got it! Hay no worries !! lol!

if your talking professionally then take lessons. if you're talking just plain old feel the music dancing, then just feel the music and move accordingly. you don't have to have a special step, just move the way the music will move you to move. then don't worry about what everyone else is thinking when you dance, just dance. i do, any where the music strikes me to move. stores, on line it really doesn't matter. just feel and move.

Go to a Professional Dance school. If you are an adult there are plenty of adult classes. They are great fun and it's a good form of exercise.

try finding places that offer lessons. You might also want to find a type of dance that you might want to do. Also, try ordering vidoes that will teach you some of the basics. I hope this helps.
