A 1X is an XL. It's like basic Algebra. The number in front of the X determines how many X's there are in the size. If it says 2X, then it's XXL and so forth. But, of course, different lines will make the same size to different measurements. I mean, an XL from Ralph Lauren Polo isn't gonna be cut, or fit, like a XL from the Plus Size store. What ppl have to realize is that the XL is the 1X according to that particular manufacturer's standards. And it's not a stupid question cuz ur obviously not the only person who doesn't know the answer.

Usually 1X is a larger size than XL. But these sizes vary. I buy clothes from catalogs and when you look at the size charts XL can be as small as a 14 or as large as a 20. It depends on the brand. 1X can be as small as a 16 or as large as a 22.

I started checking the size charts after receiving some very small 1X tops and some very large 1X tops.

Actually, I think 1X is one size larger than XL. Anyways, they are really close.
