R-Diz recommends BearShare, but BearShare has a built-in spyware that is basically a trojan. AVOID IT!

Now, almost all the p2p networks contain viruses, but if you only download mp3's you wont get any. Stay away from .wma files. Those sometimes use Windows media Player to download viruses and spyware into your system. If you were only downloading .mp3's and you still got viruses, then you have a backdoor/downloader already in your system. P2P wasn't at fault. A good firewall will put a stop to this. Also, get anti-spyware/anti-virus programs for your computer.

A good 'music only' p2p program/network is the Piolet/Manolito (MP2P) system. More info on that at http://slyck.com/mp2p.php

A small quiggle: If you have to pay to have your system fixed, then what in the h-e-double hockey sticks are you doing fooling around with p2p?

You need an antivirus, try downloading and installing AVG antivirus free edition.

You should also have a firewall, and a spyware/adware remover. For those, download and install ZoneAlarm Free, and Ad-Aware SE.

You only get viruses on your music downloads when you are STEALING MUSIC.

Serves you right.

Man, you are in for a big surprise.
That's one of the dumbest comments I've heard from someone who wrote, an otherwise intelligent reply.
