My brother in law just left my sister in law, saying he had been planning it for years, but the youngest just graduated from HS.
It happens, but as long as someone is waiting (and really putting the kids first), wait until they are young adults (not just 18), and through school.
Actually,, it must be hard on the kids regardless of what age they are.

My ex left a little earlier than that. I wish he would have waited that long, but is floozy wouldn't let him stay. I know many couples who say they are together for the kids, but when the kids leave for college the parents stay together. Sometimes I think it is just blowing off steam.

no.but my friend left her husband after her kid turned 18........she said she would from day one...she stayed with her husband for the sake of the kid..wrong move to do..she was unhappy and it reflected on the kid.....he knew she was not happy......the kid was well taken care of and loved but thats not a reason to stay with someone you dont love...you will always love your child so why be unhappy
