first you have to edit down the piece of the song you want, the best ringtone is not always YOUR favorite part of the song, but rather something that will repeat decently in 10-15 seconds. Then depending on your carrier and what your phone takes (some will take mp3, some need to be converted to qcp - ie sprint & version phones I've found for this in the past). The next step is to transfer that data to your phone - either via comm cable - infrared - or by uploading it. There's a free place to upload at:

remember that you might be charged by your carrier for downloading. (it's usually per byte or kb)

*Tip* try to keep your files small because the larger they are the more errors you get in downloading, and you are charged for each byte you download on a wireless network

will if you want the song it self I'll help you.
I have a program called GoldWave that i can cut the section i want from the song & if I want a make it faster. but my version of the program the song must be MP3 so I use Streambox Ripper to change it from wave or any other to MP3.
