Absolutely. When you are constantly interfering with other countries politics something will happen to you. That said these happened during the communist era and the US was trying to "contain" that threat.

What does this have to do with the 9-11 attacks by crazed muslims? The examples you gave were not Islamic countries, and we didn't support a coupe overthowing a democracy in Iran.

We were shocked becuase American's as a whole do not familiarize with terrorism on their own land.

Now, the small percentage that is aware of the coups or attempted coups we assisted with just acted like it was a surprise.

Of course some Anti-American POSs is going to come up here and tell you that you are wrong but that's ok. By Anti-American, I refer to those that refuse to be open minded about opposing opinions.

Please read all of this as I try to look at both sides.
To be faire while it could seem like an after math of those occurances it was actually caused by religious fanatics. Read what they write about on their own web sites, they want to kill Americans and all non Muslims as apart of how they translate their religion.

However, those who join with them do so in part becuase of situational trapings. If your poor and live in one of these regions your probably Muslim to start with and the idea of blowing your self up and others is not so bad since you get those virgins and don't have much to live for any how. This poor state of living is not made better by Americans coming in and blowing up stuff and scaring famlys who probably don't know what's going on past foreign invasion.

So crazy leaders aside yes some of the fallowers are caused by previous things done by the US however the public does not go out looking to be informed, past watching CNN briefly (if at all) before turning to watch cars circle in NASCAR. Hence why they are shocked when large numbers show up on some brodcast interupting their television.

You must be surprised to learn that none of those countries sent terrorists to fly planes into building in the USA. What surprises me is why some people help spread the enemy's propaganda yet cover their eyes when it comes to the attacks they have made in the past such as the first WTC attack, USS Cole, Marine barracks, etc...

I don't think we were expecting 3000 people to die in one day. How is that NOT shocking?
