by not trying to humiliate them purposely (at least not while your still their student or they have any kind of influence on your life).
just remember the saying
Those that can - do, those that can't - teach.

You may not be! The saying "..can do..can't teach" is not true. Many people teach because they love the career.
Secondly, even if you are smarter, your teacher can teach you much. The coaches of Olympic swimmers could not win a race even with an outboard motor starpped on their back BUT without their coaches the swimmers would not get to the Olympics, let alone win gold.
Learn as much as you can from whoever you can! Respect and honour for those around you does much for you and is an important starting point in any learning/training and career.
As an ex teacher, I have had students (1) who thought they were more intelligent than me and were, (2) students who thought they were more intelligent than me and weren't, (3) students who were more intelligent than me and didn't think about it, and the rest (those who were not bothered by such comparisons etc).
Group (1) often excelled WHEN they did not let their ability influence their behaviour and learned everything they could from their teachers then wherever they could. Teachers were an integral part of their education. Some in this group ended up on unemployment because they could not learn from anybody as everyone who tried to teach them was beneath them. How sad!
Group (2) students found it hard to learn from anybody too. There problem was due to an attitude of superiority.
Group (3) who worked did best of all as their intelligence was never an issue.
One important fact to remember is a point that King Solomon wrote "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom". You don't have this beginning of wisdom or you wouldn't be asking this question. Get to know God, learn about Him, get the beginning of wisdom and you will surpass even your own expectations.

First of all, it is not "so smart as you", it is "as smart as you (are)". So, if you really want to prove that you are at least as smart as your teacher, you should not make any mistakes.
Then, it is not smart at all to show your teacher that he/she is not too smart. How would you feel if, one day, you are the teacher and one of your students shows you that you are not that smart? Wouldn't you like to prove to that student that maybe you're not that smart, but you still have the power..? Think about it. I did that same thing that you are trying to do now and that teacher gave me really hard time after that. I was stupid, then. You, my friend, don't be.
My advice is that, instead of showing to that teacher that he/she is not as smart as you are, try to show to that teacher that you are smarter that he/she thinks you are and make that teacher respect you for that. Remember: teachers are there to teach and they are very happy when they see that they do not waste their time.
P.S. Forget what Moo said. The ones who CAN do learned how to do it from the ones who CAN'T. Isn't that sad?

Just remember who gives out the grades.
I hope that by the time you left high school you would have learned "how to play the game." If you have a real issue with the teacher then talk to the teacher. The worst thing you can do is get into a power struggle with a teacher at the beginning of the semester. Guess who is going to win! The person handing out the grade. Drop the class if you don't like the teacher.
Grad student, parent, and teacher.........those are my qualifications.............

If you are smarter you already know not to do that intentionally. When there is a great disparity of intelligence it usually shows. From what you are asking, my guess is you are dumber than average but also weak and want to be 'smart' as part of some ego trip. Your peers ignore you so you want to be ‘smarter’ than someone you think people respect. Actually, few people in class ever respect the teacher, so try to think of another way to get attention. If you’re smart join Mensa. Try wearing glasses, dork.I hated sitting in class next to idiots, if you dont like the teacher don't mess with them.

Not AS smart as you.
Doesn't feel good, does it? Simple truth...do not show up your teachers. The best thing you should do is do your best, do all your work, study, and pass the class with as good a grade as you can.
Want another simple truth? Most teachers do not care that you are better then them at something. They have a job to do, and they love it when their students do their best. Dependent on attitude, that is...a student that is condescending, rude, or arrogant will find their lives a living hell.
My advice? Show them by acing their class, then living your life well.

What is your goal?
Even if you are smarter than your teachers, they are not going to like you "showing" them. Nor will they necessarily be convinced. Good teachers should not let any attempts to show them up change their treatment of a student, but there's always a chance they will. I have had many students smarter than me, but they usually did not know the subject matter in the depth I did. I've also had teachers whom I thought were dumber than me. Sometimes when I look back it turns out I was wrong.

First of all it's "not AS smart" not "not SO smart". And with that I think I just answered your question. If you still don't get it, you not smarter than your teacher, and even if you do get it, you'll still have some ways to go...

OOhh arrogance! What makes you think you are the smart one? Oh, did you get an answer right and the teacher made a mistake? Wow, you really must be an intellectual.
I would tell her straight what you think and see how clever that is.

I take a great deal of pleasure putting individuals in their place by using vocabulary skills to state EXACTLY what I want to communicate. This often involves seldom used, but entirely correct expressions, and if the recipient of such verbiage is an uneducated buffoon, they are left feeling confused and humiliated. This will be quite a challenge if the target of your eloquent expressions is educated.
For example, I drive a cab. One of our dispatchers is an insufferable shrew. One day she complained that a driver was using too many words to say what he needed to say....radio time is limited and valuable when things are busy. After she voiced her complaint in her loud. obnoxious Queens accent I stated one word over the radio "Succinct". She said "What?' to which I replied that the word she was seeking was succinct, meaning short, concise, to the point, directly. Ask him to be succinct! She muttered something unintelligible, and went on her merry way feeling just a little more stupid. My day was complete!

No need to ask how old you are is there ?
Why do you have to prove to a teacher that you are smarter. Maybe in that subject, on that day yes....but generally in life ( including social skills )...I don't think so.
You'll just make a pratt of yourself that you'll be embaressed about in 10 years.
