Why can't you use your cell phone on a airplane?

because it interferes with the radio waves traveling toward the plane and if the pilots cant hear what the people at the airport are saying then they dont know where to land on the runway.and what if theres another plane near them and if they cant hear whats going on then that would be bad(correct me if im wrong)

From what I understand its because if you use a cell phone on an airplane the signal from your phone can interfere with the plane's computer/navigation systems.

because some cell phones activate bombs, and with all the terrorism these days who knows what people are thinking about doing these days. Plus you probably couldn't get a signall from that high of an altitude.

it interferes with crucial instrumentaions on an airrcraft. Mainly instrumentaions used for communation from the plane to the airport
