Here you go: when clowns are doing their thing, they are plugged into the unpredictable. You are not comfortable with their unpredictable antics, and you are probably uneasy they might actually try to involve you in some of them! That is so natural to be uneasy around clowns. Please try to remember if one of them makes you uncomfortable that that was not his intention. His intention was to entertain and amuse you and help get you to completely relax. I don't think any clown in his right mind would ever deliberately try to offend nor upset you. I have clowned with people and all they do is laugh very hard and ask me to keep going, to go for it. If I ever meet you, all I will do is say hello, okay? There. Problem solved! Take good care, now, from Chris!

I am petrified of clowns. I think they look evil. You always see them sitting in the corner in a horror movie and I think it's possibly the white face with stark contrast in the eyes and make up. They look like dead people. Also I think slapstick is very out of date now so I can't really see why anyone likes them. That's just my opinion though and I know allot of people who do like them. Some even collect them and line them in their bedroom. I'd never be able to get to sleep at night if there was one in my room

Yes, it is coulrophobia a fear of clowns.
The most fear induced aspect is the heavy makeup which conceals their identity.
The crazy thing that gets me is that their face is painted with an unchanging expression. Imagine talking & socializing wearing the same expression but using diffenet tones of voice. That to me is eerie. Like puppets. I don't think I care too much for them either.

the first thing a baby recognizess is a face, and clowns parody a face in a weird way, you can't see them, who knows what they might be thinking, sometimes they don't even speak, shudder

there are enough people around to justify a web site, you can get a t shirt here that sports the phrase,

can't sleep, clowns will eat me

I hate clowns too. They scare the sh;t out of me. I think because behind that smiling laughing thing, could lurk anything. With them, you can not really see the evil, like you would with other normal people... they also caught a guy who was a clown at children's parties - he was a paedophile!!! I think that did it for me, I was put off clowns for life.

That's because nuts like John Wayne Gacy dressing up as "Pogo the Clown" who killed 33 boys in Chcago, 29 of who he buried in the crawl space under his house. What an Assshole!

Well, I use to be a clown for 8 years... I would always go to the VA Hospital and perk up the disabled vets. They looked forward to my visits. I made alot of people happy so I really don't know why you hate clowns.... It would be more acceptable to hate Terrorist or something like that... Good luck to you

Gacy was just creepy. But before Gacy...

The make-up.. no matter what their expression is, all you can see is that fake smile. The makeup is contstantly saying "IM HAPPY!!" and when thats being shoved into your face you cant help but feel theyre hiding some other feeling..
When something masks a persons identity, you cant help but feel like theyre hiding it on purpose.. their appearance is deceitful. no matter how nice they are, theres something primal about the fear they invoke.

Cuz clowns seem like phsycho paths and crazy ppl they kinda seem crazy,it seems like if you was in the room alone with them, they would have been smiling at you for a long period of time like the wanna kill you or something, you seen dat movie about the evil clown, thats what I mean, thats their master,no need to scare you!!!!!!!!

Yeah its 'cause when you're a kid you're supposed to like these weird huge humans covered in make-up and weird hair and huge noses and stuff but actually its scary and it doesn't help when your loving parents thrust you at the object of fear like a prize turkey.
