I've been an enthusiastic Mormon since my sophomore year in college. One of the big, red-letter days of my life was the day I decided "Mormonism" was the restored gospel.
As you may know, young men who are member of our faith can serve as missionaries, starting when they're 19 years old. I was older than that, but was still allowed to serve a mission. I was blessed to live among the people of Scotland and serve them. I learned the scriptures, and my testimony and understand of Jesus Christ and His gospel grew. I returned from my mission with a much better understanding of how to be the spiritual head of a family.
The next big red-letter day was when I knelt across the alter from the love of my life in the temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho. In that lovely, peaceful place, we were married -- but not just "until death do us part" but for "time and all eternity."
We have now raised our family, sending our sons and foster sons on missions to Germany, Italy, California, New Hampshire and even the strange land of Utah. It's been a rich, satisfying and wonderful life, and it's not anywhere near over yet!

I have known people who are LDS mostly through the young missionaries who go in pairs around Puerto Rico, sharing their beliefs.
I have been impressed very favorably by all of them and believe that they are fine young people. I am listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir at this time. They are world class.
I should say that if I have to summarize my views on religion, I would say: show me how you act, not what you say. The LDS people that I have met get a high mark on this scale.
