Of course you can stop cutting your cuticles, just make up your mind and get some cuticle remover in gel or cream form at Cvs or at Meijers and have it ready when you need to do your manicure. and use that instead if and when you need to . Why are people so negative ?

First of all, there really is no reason to cut your cuticles unless you have a hangnail or dry skin. If you go to a professional manicurist and not these drive thru nail salons, she should educate you on the importance of sanitation and proper nail care. Most people that I have dealt with over the years think that cutting your cuticles is a normal procedure. It's not. There is a layer of thin skin that grows over your nail as it grows out from the cuticle. This is call the Ptygerium. It grows to protect any foreign bodies or bacteria from getting into your cuticle area. It should be pushed back and trimmed regularly. This I believe is what people see as kind of a dry, whitish thin layer just below your cuticle. I hope this helps you.

They grow back fast. Push them back with a cuticle stick after you have a shower or bath.
