Your best bet would to do cardio activities such as running or biking. I recommend biking, which is good for toning your legs and butt ;). So bike about 5-6 times a week for like 15-30 minutes. If you dont have the stamina, start slow with 15 minutes and later work up to an hour. As for your stomach, basic crunches or sit ups. Do sets of 25 a few times a day. You should see results in around two weeks.
Also make sure you burn the calories you take in, and don't eat too much fatty crap food. (No fast food!)

Diet and exercise; a little of both at a time.
Diet: Eat several small meals during the day, with less carbs at night. Experiment with spices, not sauces (too many calories). Stay away from high-sugar fruits and any bread that is not whole grain. You want to avoid the "insulin spike" that will cause your body to store carbs, as opposed to expending them for energy.
Don't cut too many calories at first; do it gradually.
Occasionally, you can cheat a little, but only for a meal, not a whole day!
Exercise:
Walking or stationary bike, working from 10 minutes up to 45 minutes to 1 hour every day.
Crunches, leg raises, twists and hanging from a bar, lifting your knees to your chest will build your stomach (abs) area and flatten your tummy.
Light weight lifting will increase your metabolism rate and tone your legs and arms.
Stretching and yoga can also be incorporated in your health program.
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes (948 blood sugar level when I was checked into the hospital); I had to join the program to live.
Good luck!

Cardio...running, swimming or biking, for at least 20 minutes (doesn't much matter how fast) before every meal. And no snacking between meals. You'll notice a change in a week, and in a month, you won't believe the results. Takes discipline though, see it through.

Water aerobics. YMCA has programs everywhere. It's not as painful as regular aerobics and it's fun, in water!
