ARGH! It's LederHOSEN! Ach, du lieber! The day Lederhosen are in is the day we should all be worried about the fashion industry of this country. Lederhosen are for Oktoberfest. Period. I should know; I took German for SIX YEARS! They're amusing to see on people, but to actually wear them on a regular basis? Over my dead body! Ugh. Can you imagine the cast of "Devil Wears Prada" (if you saw it, that is!) in Lederhosen? Ha! Chanel? Prada? Gucci? YSL? Coach? Burburry? Bottega Veneta? Fendi? Dolce & Gabbana? Giorgio Armani? Dior? Celine? Kate Spade? Hermes? Versace? Louis Vuitton? Missoni? Escada? Etro? Pucci? Well, you get the idea. These designers will never do Lederhosen, trust me.

I had a pair custom made in Austria many years ago without the "over-the-shoulder-straps. Basically they are leather shorts which makes sense for summer hiking. I almost wore them out. I think they look better at the right place and time (Oktoberfest) and hiking. They could be a fashion statement in the right circles???
