First you need to address why you have such a temper problem.
I suggest you seek a therapist to delve into your poast relationships within your family to discvover what has led you to develop these traits?
Yiu have the control over what you do and say, so take control and reme mber other people deserve to be respected.

I tend to give warnings if it's a sensistive subject. Since your reputation probably precedes you, I believe the person will take you seriously. Second, when I'm on the brink of lashing out and I can feel the words on my lips I push them together so no words can come out, look up and take deep breaths;it's okay to clench your fists too . I look up so that the smallest thing they do won't set me off-like a neck jerk, or contuing to do what I tell them not to. I take I deep breath to slow my heartbeat. then, if ity's really bad, I think of a word or a name or a phrase that explains why it's worth not exploding, or help calm you down. "Future regret, river, Jason, haven, ..." are some examples. [I also get mental pictures like a stop sign in snow]

That's all I can say for the moment. My weakness is the sound. After I tell them mrepeatedly not to do something and I hear them do it...it's the sound that sets me off. I do wantt to commend you for addressing your vice. That's very mature so I hope you progress, because you seem dedicatee to this goal.

may sound stupid and for all i know it may not even work but try a rubber band around your wrist and smake it down on yourself...
or try a differnt technquic count back wards from ten.
or visualize soemthing that makes you happy...
or get a pad of paper and right out everything
crying works as well...
leaving the situation just up and leave get mad still just leave the situation untill you can have more direct focas when you return.

Walk away from the situation for at least five minutes. Hopefully you aren't letting the little things get to you... life is way to short for that. :)

Me personally, I have taught myself to ignore the situation and the person at that time, that has me mad. Basically walk away.
