Great question .. the answer is we hate to wait on you while you put it on. We also love a woman who is comfortable in her own skin. There is a time to get all dolled up. Running to the grocery store is not one of those times. I know women who do make up to work out at the gym. Seems to me that most of the make up, sculpted nails, expensive clothing and plastic surgery are all for the purpose of impressing other women. Your man wants you to look nice and feel good about yourself. An obsession with make up warns us that the girl is either immature, insecure or both.
Find a happy balance.

Hmmm... the French did create the industry (Coco Chanel, etc.) My opinion is that each in its own way is appropriate, depending on circumstances. I have found that certain ladies I've known assumed that they needed to wear makeup to face the public, kind of like it was un-civil not to do so. But I never saw it as necessary, and actually think natural beauty is preferable; but I would go with the lady's wish - whatever made her the happiest - but if she were stressing over the decision, I'd try to put her mind at ease.
While we're at it, mind if I ask you one - is it ok for a man to have a three-day stubble in public or does he have an obligation to society to appear neat?

I think a little makeup doesn't hurt at all. So I personally prefer a little makeup on women. Not too much though. Little perfume is ok too.

I've seen this question pop up a lot, and usually most guys say they like just a little or none at all. I guess it comes to putting just enough so that you look better but not enough so that he can tell.
Personally, I hate anything that is not natural, be it make up, painted nails or rubber boobs. Come to think of it, I'm not to fond of laminated flooring that imitates wood either.
In the specific case of make up and nail polish (specially toe nails) it makes women look a lot older or (pardon my boldness) hookers.
