If your ex punched you in the face, then that should be the final straw for him. No one has the right to hit you, no matter how angry he is or what you might have done. That is simply unacceptable behavior on his part, and should never be tolerated. How do you get over him? Tell yourself every day how lucky you are that you found out what kind of person he really is before you were tied to him with marriage and/or a child. There are too many great guys out there to settle for this one.

The only thing you could do right now is let the days take its course. Like they say, if something is truly yours, it will come back to you, if not, it wasn't yours to begin with. Time heals broken hearts. Of course you will reminisce on the wonderful times, but you also need to think about yourself and how you want to end up. Was the love you BOTH shared real? It couldv'e been a great thing that he is no longer with you. So put all that in your mind, just be patient.

How can the "love of your life" be someone who punched you in the face??? If that isn't enough of a wake up call, I don't know what is. You need professional help with a good mental health therapist or psychologist to help you work through this. Your self-esteem has to be shot to long for someone who punches you in the face.and tell yourself he is the love of your life. Get some help.

You seem like a smart girl, move on with your life. This might sound morbid but it's like a death, you'll hurt in the beginning but you move forward. Why give this guy the time of day. Your hurt now but get over it, your a stronger person than that. Don't involve yourself in this kind of drama, take it one day at a time. Karma has a way of rewarding people that been hurt, just have to be patient.

You might want to consider speaking with a councelor. If you're still able to hold onto feelings for someone who has physically hurt you then there might be an underlying issue that you need to deal with.

There's not an easy answer to this, nor is there an answer that you want to here. The only thing that will help is time. Maybe even a male companion.
