I used to do this as a toddler; maybe you just didn't grow out of it.

Have your iron levels tested, because you may have low blood-iron levels - it's the number 1 reason for eating/chewing non-food items.

it isn't weird. you have some type of sensory integration issue. the body develops as we grow from infancy to integrate different sensations and movements. for whatever reason, the need to chew did not fully integrate and you find it calming to chew on that type of fabric. how old are you? do you have a tendency to chew on your fingernails or ice or anything like that? i am 25 and i have always had a thing for deep pressure and blankets around my face. even in the summer, i have to have a fan on to cool the room off so i can have a heavy blanket on top of me. then i have to have a little lap throw tucked in by my head. my boyfriend is a therapist too so we just laugh about it.

Not at all! I used to chew on sand paper or just plain sand when I was in high school. I loved that grit against my teeth and tongue. How weird is that, right?

I chew on my hair.

When it's wet.

You're not weird, weird is not a real word. We're all 'weird' in our own ways. What's normal to you is abnormal to others.

There's something from your infancy that brings this about. You didn't get the proper teething items as a baby.the terrycloth's texture feels like when a baby teeth's. It's cool, just dont start wrapping it around your mans........well never mind.

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!!! Weird as hell. For sure. As long as you can be sure you're not injesting the fibers, then you're probably not risking your health. But, yeah, teensy bit weird.

its a little weird but i think everyone has a smell or taste that they enjoy.. Like some pregnant women crave paint and sand thats strange but its a craving that your brain triggers you to enjoy.
