Why do you suppose the world is full of such sarcasm?

It's a quick fix in a competitive society.

A simple case of "one-upmanship" on the part of people who were never taught how (or cared to learn) constructive ways to deal with life's harsh realities.

Not to mention the fact that this mentality has been "popularized" by television shows, comedians and other so-called "role models" for todays youth.

In all honesty, you sometimes get so tired of people trying to lord it over you with their supposed superiority and puffed up pride that it brings out the sarcasm in you! You don't necessarily want to be that way but you are sometimes provoked into it.

I know that I am sometimes sarcastic when people ask the most stupidest questions that are so obvious you wonder what they have for brains! This really makes me want to climb the wall! I am all for instructing someone if they really need it, but if they are being stupid on purpose and don't want to exercise their mental faculties, then this is where the sarcasm comes out in me!

Because people think by being sarcastic they are being clever. The fact that you can make somebody else feel like Sh;t makes you feel soooooo much better about yourself.... Sarcasm just shows insecurity... (Simon Cowel wink wink nudge nudge :-))

no one wants to be hurt emotionally so we attack anyone who has the potential to harm us/OR we are so tired of people acting stupid to gain attention and embarrassing them helps them remember.

It's a vicious thing which is why I'm trying to quit and use it for good if that exists

Because most people are very insecure and by using sarcasism it deflects attention away from them.
