whats the difference between "manga volume" and "manga chapter"

I suppose that a volume in manga is the equivalent of a season in anime, which is formed by about 30 chapters. If so, a manga volume must result of the compilation of several manga chapters.

If you're talking books, a volume is an entire book and a chapter is an episode.
