This actually happened to me. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but it didn't matter, because one day I got a phone call. Want the story, let me know and I will send it to you.

Anyway, what does your heart tell you to do? Consider: do you love your current father (if applicable)? Has he given you everything you ever needed in your life, a roof over your head, food, clothing, and more importantly love? Are you happy in your own life? Do you need to know his background for medical purposes? Write a pro/con list. These things might help you decide what you should do, but most of all listen to what is in your heart.

I am 50 years old and have never met my birth father. I am trying to find out how to go about it as we speak. I can't get any information from my mother. She refuses to tell me anything. She feels that her life didn't start till she remarried when I was 2. I feel everybody deserves to know where they come from. Good luck to you.
