Single mom likes to travel; need to know what docs I need to travel with my son. Father is not in son's life in any manner. Is there one uniform legal doc I can use for entrance to any country?

You'll need to get him a passport.

I can only answer for traveling to Canada. You have to have proof that you are the guardian. I don't know if you were married to the father at one time. I was told to travel with a notarized statement from the father saying I had permission to travel out of country with the child. They do this because of people who are going through nasty divorces and custody issues so that they can be sure you are not running across the border trying to hide the child.
